Customer Ordering Portal for NetSuite
Replaced an emailed Excel order-form workflow with a production customer portal integrated with NetSuite.
Problem
Customers submitted orders through emailed Excel forms, which account managers manually reviewed and entered into NetSuite. The process created extra administrative work, slower order handling, and more opportunities for data-entry mistakes.
Solution
Built a Next.js prototype that recreated the order workflow as a web application, connected it to a NetSuite SuiteScript backend, and used the prototype to get stakeholder approval. After approval, developed the prototype into a fully usable customer portal.
Result
The portal replaced the emailed Excel order-form process. Customers can now manage their orders directly through the web application, while order data flows into NetSuite without the same manual account-manager input. In the first six months, the workflow saved an estimated 18,845 minutes of administrative work.
